Nancy Otto, MD

Fellowship Trained Hand Surgeon

Nancy Otto, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with added qualification in hand surgery. She sees patients in Live Oak and San Antonio, Texas, at Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

After finishing medical school in New York, New York, at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Otto completed a general surgery residency at Roosevelt Hospital as well as a residency at New York Orthopaedic Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. She went on to complete a fellowship at Jefferson Medical College in  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Growing up, Dr. Otto's family emphasized independence, creativity, ingenuity, and helping others. She always liked to figure out how things worked and how to fix them, and she was intensely involved in music, art, and sports. Hand surgery was a perfect fit for Dr. Otto; she's able to figure out what is wrong, how it happened, and how to fix it. She loves helping people pursue their lives and interests with functional, pain-free hands.

Dr. Otto has been in practice since 1982 and treating patients in San Antonio since 1988. She raised three wonderful children and continues to play piano and create art. Dr. Otto loves helping each of her patients have working hands through individual evaluation and treatment.

Dr. Otto is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. She maintains membership with the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Texas Medical Society, and the Bexar County Medical Society. At Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Otto's team includes Annie Morgan, LMRT.
